Oh hey guys.....Now, before you guilt trip me for not posting last week, hear me out. You see, I was waiting for a new product to come in to review for you! WOW! I know I am so awesome and you're welcome in advance.
Let's get down to business. A few weeks ago, I was trolling Refinery29's site (if you don't already follow them, you should probably click here) and I stumbled upon this unicorn of an article about the R.E.M Hair Removal Spring. In short; this little gizmo is a game changer for us ladies who are either a little more Mediterranean than others (if you catch my drift) or sufferer's to the peach fuzz.
Now, I know you probably have a million questions so, let's work through this together one step at a time!
- What is it for? Okay so, the R.E.M Spring is wondrous little device that helps remove unwanted facial hair with ease. Just so we're clear, THIS IS NOT A TOOL TO USE NEAR YOUR EYEBROWS. I must also disclose that this tool is meant for use in the following facial areas only; the jawline, upper lip (mustache land), and the upper neck (closest to the jaw line).
- How to use it! Surprise, this tool is super easy to use (thank goodness). When you first open the box to your new R.E.M Spring, you may notice that it is a literal spring. Made from stainless steel, the R.E.M Spring is roughly 5 inches long and include a couple smooth handles on either end. I would recommend washing your face before use to be sure that any excess dirt/ oil is off your face and cannot sneak its way into your enflamed hair follicles (nothing is worse than a skin infection). Now that our faces are clean, it's time to start "springing away." I am not going to lie to you, this method of hair removal is not pain free but it is much more effective than plucking and will save you money on waxing. The "R.E.M Sensation," as I like to call it, feels much like you would expect it to; like hair being ripped out of your face. It isn't that bad, but I figured I should give fair warning. What is beauty with out pain? Select the area you wish to work on and take either end of the R.E.M Spring in each hand. Form a "horseshoe" shape with your R.E.M Spring over the desired area. Begin twisting the coil of the spring; once you've felt that "R.E.M Sensation," inspect the area and proceed to twist as needed over any areas of concern.
REMINDER: THIS TOOL SHOULD NOT BE USED AROUND THE EYES/ EYEBROW AREA. INTENDED AREAS OF USE ARE MENTIONED IN THE ABOVE "HOW-TO" SECTION.
- Post R.E.M Use: After you are finished using your R.E.M Spring, I recommend giving your face one last blast of cool water. To help "de-puff" the face, I would also suggest using an alcohol based toner to tighten and brighten the skin, followed by a soothing facial cream (based on your personal preference, but generally something fragrance-free).
How frequently you use the R.E.M Spring is entirely based on you, the individual. If you're still feeling a little curious, follow the link (here) to read some reviews written by other R.E.M users!! I do hope this review/ tutorial was helpful and I look forward to posting some more this coming week!!
- XO, Sam
